The Alchemy of Smoke

Of all the senses, smell is the one wired straight to memory. It skips the reasoning mind entirely and arrives, unannounced, in the same rooms where feeling is kept. A single note — bergamot, wet stone, the inside of an old book — can return a whole afternoon to you before you have named it.

We build each candle around that shortcut. A candle is not a fragrance so much as a door: you light it, and somewhere behind the smoke a season opens. The work is in choosing which one.

So we treat scent the way a label treats a recording — as something composed and released with care. What burns in the room is only half of it. The rest is what the room becomes.
